Illegals assisted in voting in North Carolina Election

For the past week, Project Veritas Action investigators have been undercover posing as illegal immigrants who slipped through the cracks due to Obama's DREAM Act. Our investigators approached MULTIPLE campaigns, admitting they were not U.S. Citizens but that they still wanted to vote.

PVA: Do you want to tell him your situation?

PVA: Yeah, I do have my license

Greg Amick: Un huh.

PVA: But I am not legal and I want to vote.

Greg Amick: Okay.

PVA: But I do have my license, I’m registered.

Greg Amick: You are registered?

PVA: I’m all registered.

Greg Amick: You do not need a photo ID. When did you register?

PVA: I don’t have my green card.

Greg Amick: You are registered to vote though?

PVA: I’m all registered to vote, and I want to vote.

PVA 2: What happened is, the state gave a bunch of “illegals”, when they gave them their license with the DACA card for the Dream Act. A lot of them inadvertently got their voter registration card as well.

Greg: Okay.

VO #2: Earlier this month, voter rolls in North Carolina were shown to include a large number of immigrants who had been registered to vote but who shouldn’t have.

PVA 2: So technically they are not legal but she really wants to be able to support Kay Hagen.

Greg Amick: Here’s a couple of things you can do. You do not have to have your driver’s license, but do you have any sort of identification?

PVA: But I do have my driver’s license.

Greg Amick: Oh, you do. Show ‘em that and you’re good.

PVA: But the only problem, you know, I don’t want to vote if I’m not legal.
I think that’s going to be a problem. I’m not sure.

Greg Amick: It won’t be, it shouldn’t be an issue at all.

PVA: No?

Greg Amick: As long as you are registered to vote, you’ll be fine.

VO #3: The North Carolina law is very clear,

“Any person who shall, in connection with any primary, general or special election held in this state, do any of the acts or things declared in this section to be unlawful, shall be guilty of a Class 1 felony. It shall be unlawful:

For any person, knowing that a person is not a citizen of the United States, to instruct or coerce that person to register to vote or to vote.”

PVA: Is it legal for her to vote, if she’s not a citizen?

Greg Amick: If you’re registered vote… You got a voter registration card?

PVA: Yes.

Greg Amick: Then you’re good to vote.

VO #4: It seemed everyone we asked thought it was okay for this non U.S. citizen to vote.

PVA: I have my license, I’m registered to vote, but I’m undocumented, I’m an illegal. But I want to vote. I want to support Kay Hagen, that’s who I am here for.

Campaign Worker: You are already registered?

PVA: Yes.

Woman in brown: I’m going to tell you what, I’d go in there and vote and whatever address you used before, use it. I’d go in there and vote and let them find out if it’s wrong.

VO #5: This campaign worker is supporting republican Chris Hailey who is running against Irwin Carmichael for Sheriff.

Woman with glasses-Hailey for Sheriff

PVA: We want to make sure Kay Hagen is pro-immigrant, you know we don’t know if she…

Woman: She definitely is.

PVA: I don’t want to give my vote if she’s not.

Woman: Yes, she definitely is.

PVA: She’s okay with like illegals.

Woman: Absolutely.

PVA: You think she’s okay with me being an illegal voter for her?

Woman: Absolutely.

PVA: So Kay Hagan wouldn’t mind her voting even if she’s not a citizen?

Woman: No.

PVA: Okay.

Woman: Welcome aboard.

PVA: Thank you.

VO #5: She even decided to call her boss to double check.

Woman: Okay , great. Thank you. You should be fine as long as you’re registered.

PVA: Who told you that? That was your boss?

Woman: Yeah, I just spoke with the campaign manager.

PVA: Oh cool.

VO #6: Darren Simms is the Campaign Manager for Yolanda Trotman who, believe it or not, is running for District Court Judge in the county.

PVA: We just to vote for Kay Hagen because my girlfriend is a...she is not a citizen yet.

Darren Simms: Okay.

PVA: I have my license.

PVA: She does have license. She’s registered to vote but she not, even though she’s technically not a citizen.

Darren Simms: Okay.

PVA: But she actually has the…

Darren Simms: ...the registration card. So all you have to do is going in there and them your name and address.

PVA: So that’s what I’m afraid because I am illegal. I don’t want to give my information and then they get back to me.

PVA: Does she have to do that?

Darren Simms: So they are either going to ask you for your ID.

PVA: I have it.

Darren Simms: Okay yeah, as long as she has an ID and she shows the ID.

PVA: And she’s registered to vote.

Darren Simms: She’s registered to vote.

PVA: But she’s not a ...she’s undocumented. Does that matter or not?

Darren Simms: Okay. Do you have her registration card?

PVA: She does. She has all that.

Darren Simms: Does the registration card have an address on it?

PVA: Yes.

Darren Simms: Okay. As long you show ‘em that and it has an address on it, you’re good.

PVA: Oh good.

Darren Simms: Okay.

PVA: They’re not going to call immigration?

Darren Simms: No, no, no, no, no, no.

PVA: Good. Good.

Darren Simms: As long as you got voter card… Just pull out the voter’s card and give it to ‘em.

VO #7: Martin Kelly is the father of David Kelly who, believe it or not, is running for Superior Court Judge. Currently, David is an Assistant District Attorney for the county.

Martin Kelly: How did you register without being a citizen?

PVA Investigator: Because she got a DACA card.

Woman: And that’s a temporary, that’s temporary one?

PVA Investigator: No.

Martin Kelly: If they her register then she can’t get in trouble.

Martin Kelly: If you registered…(shrugs shoulders)

Martin Kelly: All they can do is say no. They can’t do anything else.
