Project Veritas Action has just released a new video in a series which features undercover journalists exposing additional election law irregularities involving the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. In this video, the investigative trail begins when undercover journalists secretly filmed members of the Bernie Sanders team destroying Trump campaign signs on private property in New Hampshire.
“We kept meeting up with these young Australians in the Bernie Sanders campaign,” said Project Veritas Action President James O’Keefe in the video. “When we heard why and how they came to be in the U.S. we were really curious.”
After it was learned that a number of people from the Sanders team came from Australia, Project Veritas Action investigated this angle, pursuing leads from New Hampshire to Nevada and South Carolina. As the video makes clear, the Australians depicted in the video working for the Sanders campaign are being funded by the Australian Labor Party, a clear violation of U.S. federal campaign finance laws.
Federal election law is clear. Foreign nationals can volunteer for campaigns but they must not be compensated. The fact that these Australian volunteers had their airfare paid for and that they are receiving a daily stipend as well as getting their housing paid for is a problem. It is especially a problem because the money is foreign money.
According to 52 U.S.C. ~30121, it “shall be unlawful for… …A foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make… …A contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election.”
The Australians were warned not to post their activities on social media. The concern was that the conservative government in Australia wouldn’t be too happy about how Australian tax dollars were being spent to help elect Bernie Sanders president of the United States.
This conversation with Australian “volunteer” Ben Kremer is typical of what the Project Veritas Action journalists uncovered:
“…and so like my flights, and my travel amounts is all paid for, technically by the taxpayer, so they have had issues in the past, where like if I post a photo of myself in front of the Statue of Liberty, and the next morning it will be on the front of a newspaper, they’d be like, you know like, ’21-year-old student uses tax payer’s money to go on holiday. Like, what a disgrace… …There is nothing wrong with what I am doing here because the money is literally given to us for that sole reason, but if we post on social media it gives the current government an excuse to get rid of the program to save money. If that makes sense.”
James O’Keefe also confronts the national Press Secretary and national Field Director for the Sanders campaign in the video.
This video along with the others released in this series by Project Veritas Action raises serious questions about the integrity of the Bernie Sanders campaign. It raises questions that should make every supporter of Bernie Sanders stop and take notice.
Project Veritas Action Fund (AKA Project Veritas Action) was founded by James O’Keefe to investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud and other misconduct.
